Shamrock Recruitment is partnering with a leading national insurance building company to recruit an experienced Safety Advisor. Working closely with operational teams, you’ll play a key role in driving a positive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance and supporting the successful delivery of projects across multiple sites.

What will you be doing?

Key tasks of this role include:

  • Manage and maintain WHS Management Systems, SWMS and site specific safety documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks and safety inductions across active projects.
  • Provide practical WHS advice and support to supervisors, project managers and subcontractors.
  • Complete incident investigations, reporting and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with current WHS legislation, policies and industry best practice.

What do you need?

  • Minimum expectation of a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher).
  • Previous experience in a Safety Advisor or similar role within the construction industry. Commercial and/or insurance building experience highly regarded but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, mobile technology and digital safety management systems.
  • Current White Card, First Aid Certificate and unrestricted driver’s licence, with the flexibility to travel when required.
